Halifax sport karate was established in 2005 is the founding club of Kempo Karate Association. we are an inclusive karate club open to all ages and abilities.
The karate club is situated in sowerby bridge Halifax.
Home to English, British, Commonwealth international and world medalists.

Senshi Shotokan

Senshi Shotokan was established in 2025.
our club is a non profit club, we are deidicated and passionate to pass on what we have been taught. we enjoy training hard we also have a social side.

We are a traditional shotokan karate club in sowerby bridge halifax with over 20 years of training our club includes grades upto 5th Dan Level and all our instructors are here to help. Our classes are held at the sowerby bridge working mens club.

Ryu Shotokan

Ryu Shotokan was established in 2012
Classes are instructed by international coach and former international athlete Mike Carr 4th Dan head coach of Ryu Shotokan Karate. Sensei Mike Carr has a wealth of knowledge having been a former international competitor and is a former British Champion. He is also enhanced DBS checked, safeguarding trained and first aid trained.
Our sessions help with confidence, coordination, discipline, social interaction, and mental and physical wellbeing. Doing this in a safe and controlled environment to help encourage growth and fun.
Ryu Shotokan has been running for 14 years. In that time, it has created regional, national British, International, commonwealth and World champions. As well as that, Ryu boasts England Squad members.
